  Walks in the Florentine hills

Idea

Experience the countryside surrounding Florence on foot, walking amidst vineyards and olive groves, through small villages steeped in history. Your guide speaks Italian and English and will lead you through areas of extraordinary beauty, providing you with details of the history, traditions and monuments of each place. These are afternoon excursions and last about 3-4 hours each..

Duration: 1 week

Program: 5 afternoon excursions of 3-4  hours each

  • Monday View of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo and from the church of San Miniato al Monte, tour of the church, walk around the area of Forte Belvedere and visit to the Boboli Gardens, concluding with a welcome- aperitif
  • Tuesday Fiesole and surroundings. Visit to the Etruscan town and Roman amphitheater , the archaeological museum and San Francesco monastery. Return to Florence on foot.
  • Wednesday Through olive groves and vineyards, from Grassina to Impruneta, and a visit to a terracotta factory.
  • Thursday Itinerary from Florence to Settignano, passing the ancient quarry of Maiano .Visit Settignano and the garden of Villa Gamberaia.
  • Friday Excursion to the Chianti region, visit to Greve and walk between the Castle of Montefioralle and the Abbey at Passignano, visit to a farm and wine-tasting.

This seminar can be taken as group course on the above dates or privately (small group or individuals) at any time of the year, on request and it can be combined to an Italian course in the morning.
